Electric Towel Rails must be Vented on First Use to Prevent Them Blowing&Spraying out Hot Water, Geyser offer Clear Instructions to Prevent This Happening

Bleed Valve on Electric Towel Rail Chrome Straight 700x450 Electric Towel Rail Bleed Valve on Electric Towel Rail 2When purchasing an electric towel rail for your bathroom it is imperative that it is installed correctly, ensuring that on first use the electric towel rail (or electric radiator) is vented and correctly bled, as per the Geyser fitting instructions. If this isn’t done the electric towel rail can potentially blow one of the blank plugs out and then hot water can spray out and potentially scald a member of the household. The reason this can happen is that an electric towel rail is a sealed closed unit (unlike a towel rail connected to a central heating system). Therefore when the cold heating solution inside heats up it will expand. If there isn’t the perfect internal vacuum inside the rail there is nowhere for the expanded liquid to escape, so this will then force the blank plugs out of the rail and it will blow (sometimes even right off the wall).Geyser provide clear concise fitting instructions with ALL of its electric towel rails and electric radiators. These offer a step by step guide in installing the rail from taking it out of the box, right up to switching it on for first use. These instructions are double sided A4 colour instructions which can be passed to your electrician. Geyser has received many plaudits on how easy to follow these instructions are. Also be warned that many irresponsible suppliers of electric towel rails provide less than adequate, or no fitting instructions whatsoever. Here is some feedback from a recent Geyser customer whose electrician didn’t follow the instructions and left the customer in this scenario:”When I first used the rail it blew a blanking plug through the ceiling, producing a 5″ hole, and sprayed hot water over the wall and floor. Fortunately no one was in the bathroom at the time. Had they been, a serious injury may have been sustained.”For this reason, as the customer, Geyser advise that you double check these instructions are physically handed to your electrician and that he confirms back to you he has followed them, before he signs off your installation and leaves your home. Geyser’s Unique Electric Towel Rail Facilities&What Should an Electric Towel Rail be Filled with?

Geyser Electric Towel Rail Preparation FacilitiesGeyser is one the UK’s most reputable suppliers of Electric Towel Rails and Electric Radiators. This is due to the investment it has made in it’s Electric Preparation facilities. Many people often ask.. What is inside an electric towel rail or electric radiator? What does the heating solution in an electric towel contain? Should an electric towel rail be filled with oil? Are electric towel rails filled with water safe? The answers to these questions is here.. As shown in the images above Geyser has a unique tank of pre mixed heating solution. This is a water based solution which contains all the relevant Glycol compound additives required, such as Boiler Noise Silencer, Anti Freeze and Rust Inhibitor. Old fashioned electric heating used oil based solutions, but this in no longer necessary as it is costly and messy should it ever develop a leak. This tank of pre mixed solution is then fed down into two electric prep stations. Hand held guns dispense the solution and this is then fed directly into the towel rail. As you can see the towel rail remains in a protective covering at all times, ensuring there is no cosmetic damage to the product (which has already been quality checked at the manufacturing stage).Due to this investment Geyser is able to offer electric towel rails and electric radiators on a next day service nationwide to the UK. Many retailers (even B&Q cannot offer electric towel rails, as they simply don’t have the facilities to make up the rails and they often pass this job onto the customer). Additionally Geyser supply full comprehensive electric towel rail fitting instructions with every rail, so there is never any issue with installation. Flat Front Radiator Valves, Mean Valves Will No Longer Protrude Forward of Your Radiator

Flat Profile Radiator Valves vs Normal Angled Valves Flat Profile Radiator Valves vs Normal Angled Radiator ValvesFlat Front Radiator Valves are one of the latest innovative accessory products from Geyser Radiators, which in essence prevent your radiator valves from ever protruding forward of the front of your radiator. As the demonstration images above show, when you use standard Angled Radiator valves (for underside valve entry radiators) the valves will always stick forward (see top image). The same applies when you use Angled Valves on a side valve entry product (see bottom image). However as the demonstration setup Geyser have created show, when you use a Flat Front Valve in either installation, the fact the valve is manufactured around a 3 pointed corner means that the valve swill always return back in line with the front of the product. As some modern bathrooms can be very small in houses, especially in downstairs water closets or en suite bathrooms space may be tight and therefore you don’t really want the radiator valves on your heated towel rail sticking out into the room, where you could potentially catch your ankle or leg against them. These new style valves now give you the ability to lose this projection altogether, as shown in the first image above.Geyser offer these valves in (click to visit respective product pages): Sparkling Chrome Manual Flat Front Valve Option, Sparkling Chrome Thermostatic Flat Front Valve Option and a Brushed Chrome Thermostatic Flat Front Valve Option.

Geyser Educates its Customers on Buying Radiator Valves, with its Unique”Choosing Valves”Advice Guide

Understanding Radiator Valves Straight and AngledUnderstanding Pipe Centres on RadiatorsGeyser offers a very wide range of Radiator Valves, therefore it felt the need to write a dedicated “Choosing Valves Technical Advice Guide” to fully educate its customers in an area they may not fully understand. As a result of this knowledge transfer, it puts the purchasing power for every component required for the set-up of the radiator back in the customers hands.Plumbers will often stock and carry basic valves in their vans, but when purchasing Designer Radiators and Heated Towel Rails.. it’s important to realise there are many different valve choices available. These choices may match the geometric shape of the radiator or the exterior finish of the radiator, so the choice needn’t be so limited. On each and every radiator/towel rail product page on the Geyser website, it displays thumbnails of all the accessories suitable for that particular model, you’re looking at. These are shown down the bottom right hand side of the page. This is half of the valve decision job done.. as customers aren’t seeing anything which they should rule out as not being suitable. Only thing then to do is condense this list to the final choice required for your particular installation, this is where the guide will help. The main things it will ask you to consider is how and where your central heating pipe will enter the product. Everything you’ll need to answer the questions is there. eg  ’Understanding pipe centres?’ and ‘Should I buy Straight or Angled valves for my radiator?’.Click here to view the Choosing Valves Technical Advice Guide.Click here to view Geyser’s Entire Range of Radiator Valves.

Pre Programmable Digital Timer for Electric Towel Rails&Electric Radiators

Electric Towel Rail Element Timer Device Timer Device for Electric Towel RailsGeyser has launched an electric towel rail timer device compatible with all types of electric towel rail (and electric radiators), including both single heat and variable heat (thermostatic). The device allows you to programme it to switch the electric towel rail on and off at certain times of the day.Often you will only need your electric towel rail operational in the morning for a shower and at night time before bed, but you will not always remember to switch it on in time beforehand, so the timer saves that hassle for you. The device also features an in built setting where you can have the device programmed to different on/off times for different days of the week.. ie weekend only, week day only or different times for the weekend  vs week days etc. The timer device is not IP rated meaning it cannot be fitted inside the bathroom. With this, you will simply run a cable to the timer and locate this outside the bathroom alongside your switched fused spur. As long as the fussed spur remains in the on position the timer will control the flow of electric onto the rail. You can view and purchase the electric towel rail timer device here on the Geyser website.
